Shifting Gears

The last 12 months have been a real period of discovery for Wayside Moto.
Spending the year on the Gold Coast and immersing ourselves in one of Australia's most vibrant motorcycle communities has taught us a lot—not just about bikes, but about the people who make this culture what it is.
More than anything, we've learned that passion means very little without a community to share it with.
The Gold Coast is packed with riders, builders, photographers, media personalities, workshop owners, and small businesses who genuinely live and breathe motorcycles. The level of craftsmanship, creativity, and dedication is inspiring, but what stands out most is the support. People back each other, celebrate each other's successes, and work together to grow the scene. That's something special.
Rides are happening every week, events are constantly being organised, and brands are actively engaging with riders. What's even more refreshing is the diversity. There isn't one dominant style, trend, or clique. On any given ride, you'll find sport bikes, choppers, adventure bikes, café racers, scooters, and everything in between rolling together. Nobody cares what you ride—as long as you ride. That's just normal here, and it's something we've come to appreciate.
It's with this new perspective that we've decided to make the move back to the Sunshine Coast. This time, we're returning with a renewed purpose.
Wayside Moto is shifting its focus toward building community, supporting local riders, and helping create more opportunities for people to connect through a shared passion for motorcycles. We want to contribute to a culture that welcomes everyone—from seasoned riders and custom builders to people who have just bought their first bike.
The foundations are already being laid by businesses and individuals who are passionate about seeing the local scene grow. Places like Farrows Customs and Session Garage are putting in the work, organising events and creating spaces where riders and enthusiasts can come together. We're excited to be part of that movement and bring our own flavour to the mix.
The Sunshine Coast has everything a rider could ask for. The winding roads through the Glass House Mountains, the open farmland stretches out toward Kilcoy, the hinterland twisties, and the endless coastal runs all offer something unique. Whether you're chasing corners, scenery, adventure, or simply an excuse to clear your head, there's a road here for you.
For me, nothing beats a relaxed cruise from Marcoola through to Noosa. The smell of the ocean, the cool sea breeze, and the sound of a shitbox chopper rolling down the coast—it's the kind of ride that reminds you exactly why you fell in love with motorcycles in the first place.
The Sunshine Coast motorcycle scene isn't dead.
It's dormant and it's time to wake it up!
Lets go! 🏍️ 👊
